*For each one of these authors, I humbly thank because their experiences have allowed me to tap into my inner self, the joy that is emerging, and everyday is a day where I can chose to nurture it, to become the person I am destined to be!*
"Dharma Punx"
By: Noah Levine
(If I can thank Noah in person, I would. A memoir about his childhood, teen angst, getting involved with the punk music scene/ lifestyle ... drugs, alcohol, etc .... leading to nowhere and deciding to change his life toward inner peace and being of service to others. An amazing read, raw, powerful, and inspiring ....)
"One Breath at a Time: Buddhism and the Twelve Steps"
By: Kevin Griffin
(Another person I would thank. Although I was never an alcoholic, I had addictive behaviors that did not serve me. This book does not only apply to those who have substance abuse problems, but to anyone who suffers from ANY addictive behavior. It's well written with true compassion and understanding.)
"No Death, No Fear"
By: Thich Nhat Hahn
(Once again, another amazing writer, poet, monk .... his writing has always touched me deeply. He has a profound understanding of the human behavior and interconnectedness with the world. Everytime I read one of his books or poems, I feel at peace.)
"The Art of Forgiveness, Lovingkindness, and Peace"
By: Jack Kornfield
(Great short stories and powerful quotes that express the three listed in the title. There are also mantras/ exercises included that help with letting go, forgiveness.)
"As a Man Thinketh"
By: James Allen
(Amazing book, written many moons ago ... from a less "spiritual" perspective, although there are elements tied in. James explains how our lives are created by THOUGHTS. "THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS." You are in control of the life you live, no matter what circumstances you face. If you train your mind toward a purpose with continuous effort, your life will manifest as you create it with your thoughts into reality. AMAZING MUST READ!)
