So my last post may have been more PMS- driven ... with a mix of insightful, emotional fueled thoughts.
Haha. It happens!
I have always experienced "severe" PMS symptoms than what I think is normal. Mood swings are inevitable. Everything and anything triggers me, and I sway from one extreme to the other (super sensitive and upset to extreme anger.) It's that hormonal imbalance that occurs or whatnot.
For a good week or two, people will get to experience a highly unbalanced, "walking on egg-shells" type of individual, which isn't pleasant at all!
Not only do I feel emotionally unbalanced, but I am craving everything in sight. Nothing is satisfying enough! I am not sure what processes are happening within the body, but what is apparent is the "need" to eat.
Maybe blood sugar levels drop, and we need extra fuel, therefore the CRAVINGS.
All of a sudden we feel irritable, tired, angry, and unappreciated .... and we try to comfort ourselves with unhealthy foods ...
But I do notice that these mood swings are less intense when I prepare a week before PMS is suppose to arrive, a more alkalizing "diet," which means eating mainly salads, steamed veggies, fruits, and no meat or fat.
I believe that it cleanses our body, allowing us to shed the toxins associated with mental fatigue, and eases our body through the upcoming "havoc." Makes sense to me.
Working out, physical movement, is also a MUST! The extra, emotional energy needs to be converted into movement. We have to release this energy in a positive way, an outlet, to spare our loved ones from the "walking on egg-shells" type of individual that we may have become. What always raises my frequency is to DANCE! <3
It is also NOT a proper time to reflect on important matters. Leave the emotions out of it. Instead, listen to some soothing classical music, or whatever type of music that moves you, quiet your mind, and do something productive! This way, you can focus your energy at what is at hand.
Ladies, get out of your head, and allow your body to experience!
(These tips also work for anyone experiencing any mental/ emotional unbalance!!!!!)
