I was almost close to being 100% sure that promoting a plant-based "diet" or lifestyle would be the most optimum for EVERYONE until I realized that my compassion for animals surpasses the nutritional aspects for meat consumption. Don't get me wrong, I stand by plant-based food sources for health and healing: physically, mentally, and spiritually. It just makes sense, going back to the basics and re-connecting with Mother Nature which is essentially who we are. But these are my own opinions, and not everyone will understand. Not everyone will "see" from a compassionate point of view for animals. Not everyone will be on the same level of awareness. Not everyone's time for spiritual awakening will be the same. Even that statement may not be understood ...
It seems as if knowledge fuels debate, fuels separation. But I realized that it is not knowledge that causes conflict but the EGO. If we can let go of the ego, unite, and reconnect with each other and Mother Earth, HEALTH CAN BE THE EPIDEMIC!
Instead of "seeing" through the eyes of self righteousness, could we not surpass our biological (animal) defenses which causes unnecessary conflict with each other?
Could we not create a world that thrives through community and peace?
We have evolved beyond an animal being because we have been given the GIFT OF CONSCIOUSNESS. We have been given the GIFT OF CREATION. The ability to create ANYTHING out of nothing, a mere idea that can transform the world, such as technology. It's incredible, but why haven't we used it to create a world that is not centered upon individual survival?
Why remain at an animal level?
Why fear death?
Why fear at all?
Why allow our biological defenses and not our EVOLVED CONSCIOUSNESS make our decisions?
Maybe humanity has only begun touching base of what consciousness really is. Maybe it is our crazy journey in this life to figure that out. Once again, not everyone is spiritually awaken. Not everyone's time frame will be the same. So what can we do if we want to promote change?
RIGHT INTENTION, UNDERSTANDING, and LOVINGKINDNESS.
If you want to help someone, you must have right intention and that means a pure desire for the other person's well being. With the practice of lovingkindness, through speech and action, the message becomes more than just opinions, but the expansion of love and interconnectedness.
Going back to the initial thought of ethical vs. nutritional eating, each holds it's own set of standards. The level of conscious eating, what food symbolizes for each person, one's current health status, mental and spiritual aspects must all be taken into consideration. Not everyone will be stark black or white.
****Not everyone will understand animal as LIFE vs. animal as FOOD.****
Thus, no condemnation is needed. There is no need for hate and there is no need for separation. All these labels (vegans, non-vegans, etc.) ostracize one another. I understand animal activists who hold strong opinions about the rights of animals and detest against factory farming. I understand because I have seen videos of how animals are treated and slaughtered ... and it sends chills through my body. But I also think about the people who work there because they NEED a job to support their family. Who wants to be decapitating thousands of chickens upon hours and hours everyday? Farming, a trade that has been passed down from many generations, has become not just bout slaughtering animals but about a lifetime of passion and hard work.
Not everyone is on the same wavelength. Change is not something that can be forced. Speech full of love, compassion, and new ideas is more than enough to implant "a seed of enlightenment," an opening of a chakra, or an expansion of consciousness and awareness. Therefore, opinions about a certain idea (health) may be biased, but if right intention is present, the message will unfold.
In this pleasure seeking society, we all seek the same thing in the end, as we go through this world searching for answers, for PURPOSE and above all ... ACCEPTANCE.****
